Upgrading OS10 devices using Autoloader

If you need to upgrade your operating system (OS) and your BB10 device won't upgrade otherwise; or if your over-the-air upgrade failed, try this process. This is also a good process IF you want a complete wipe and new OS installed to start with a like-factory fresh device.

If you are not experiencing device issues, and need to upgrade with a less-invasive OS install (you don't need a device wipe and don't want to overwrite your settings and data), use this method described here:  Upgrading BB10 OS Using Sachesi

• These directions apply to Z30, Z10, Z3, Q10 and Q5 models.

Check your Model Number at Settings > About > Model Number, and make sure you download the corresponding file below!

(you can use these directions with any OS version, I've only posted these releases linked above)

Remember, this process will totally wipe your device, so the backup is important.

1. Download the file above to a Windows PC. Extract it from the ZIP file if it is zipped. If it is a ".rar" file, you will need a WinRar unpacking app on your PC to extract the file.
2. Connect your BlackBerry to the PC. Using Link, do a backup* (see below) of your phone.
3. Locate the downloaded file and run the autoloader (double click on the EXE file) and a black DOS window appears indicating "Connecting to bootrom". The DOS window processes the install, and begins to load the OS. If you have a security passwored, you will be asked to enter it.
4. When the OS loading is complete, your Z10 will reboot. Disconnect from the PC, and the device will startup.
5. Optional but recommended: Wipe your device at your Settings > Security > Security Wipe. This can take 30 mins to an hour.
6. Go through the required device setup of connecting to WiFi, Agreements, enter your BlackBerryID, and Get Acquainted screens.
7. Reconnect to the PC and perform your restore using BlackBerry Link.
8. Now, you will need to re-enter account passwords for email, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Backup Notes: When you backup using Link, you can make one total backup, or divide that backup into three different databases (Setup | Media | App Data). I always break that backup into the three different databases so that I can restore each separately because I have had some issues with a full restore failing in the App database restore, so then I can safely restore only Settings and Media.

Remember, this process does totally wipe your device, so the backup is important. Reserve about two hours time for the process... performing the backup and restore takes the longest part of the time and will vary according to the amount of data and apps on your BlackBerry.

Post Upgrade device lag, heat, fast battery discharge:  After any OS upgrade on a BB10 device, it will take 48-72 hours for the device data syncing of email, contacts, social apps, etc., to complete and finish. High data transfer after an upgrade cause high processor use, which in turn causes high battery usage, which in turn can cause higher than nornal heat from the device. Likewise, high processor use will cause some lag and initial slowness. Ignore and and be patient. It can take the 48 hours for all contacts to sync back to the device. Connect to a good WiFi source and relax. The battery will recover after a few days and you'll see normal battery usage again. Just don't drain your battery to 10% or less each time, top off the charge. You'll notice a difference after a couple days.

That said, it's relatively easy to do and your device will love it.

The latest is OS 10.2.1.2228 thanks to Toobs623 who put the bars together from the T-Mobile update. Bikin Autoloader Full BB OS10

Cuma share, dapet dari googling. Dan dah di coba hasil nya tested.
Kemarin ada user bawa BB Q5, kondisi nyala tapi cuma gambar di lcd koneksi usb ke pc(gambar nya spt kalau bb normal waktu backup di colok ke kompi). Kemungkinan gara2 update software OTA putus di tengah jalan. Karena baru pertama terima bb OS10 ini,

Ts agak bingung juga. Iseng2 Ts buka BB desktop software, pas konek disana muncul info type blackberry Q5 SQR100-2, dan otomatis disuruh update bb desktop software. Ts tambah bingung, akhirnya ts googling lagi.

Hasilnya TS baru tau bahwa BB Q5 ini ada 3 type berbeda, yaitu:
1. Bb Q5 SQR100-1
2. BB Q5 SQR100-2
3. BB Q5 SQR100-3

Nah disini permasalahannya, ts akhirnya download BB Link (untuk restore dan update BB os10). Setelah coba di jalan kan dan coba update secara online,hampir 2 jam tiba2 koneksi inet terputus (gannguan sinyal)pada hal baru 60 %. Update gagal , kondisi bb tidak berubah. Akhirnya nemu jurus ampuh, cara bikin Auto loader buat bb Q5 ini. Nama tool nya Darcy BB tool. Ts download tool dan software nya dan langsung di test, hasilnya Done.

Habis downlad filenya extensi .bar di rename jadi .zip, kemudian di ekstrak pakai winrar/winzip. hasil nya

Langkah 2 :

1. Download file yg 2 bh, kalau file hasil download masih berekstensi .bar , ubah menjadi .zip, bagus nya pake idm cuma harus ditambah file types, buka idm>download>option>file tipes tambah BAR.(nanti otomatis dia jadi ZIP)

2. Buka file .zip tersebut menggunakan WinRar atau 7zip ,

3. Extract file yg berekstensi .signed saja karena meta-inf tidak dipakai,lakukan extract pada kedua file radio dan core os.

4. Extract tool tersebut ,terserah mau di taruh di folder mana.

5. Nah ,hasil extract file .signed tadi pindahkan di dalam satu folder tool tersebut

6. Jalankan DBBTool.exe maka akan muncul seperti ini :
 
7. Klik Build Autoloader --> pilih file .signed --> beri nama file (harus diakhiri dengan .exe ) --> klik Built It .....tunggu prosesnya.

8. Jadilah autoloader yg agan inginkan.

9. Jalankan autolader agan untuk proses install os.
